Romsey - Test Way - North - Old Salisbury Lane - River Test
A nice walk to discover Romsey and the "long distance walk Test Way" in the northern stretch towards Andover
Starting from the center of Romsey exactly from the tourist office (Romsey Visitor Information Centre) we pass by Romsey Abbey and then we cross part of War Memorial Park to head towards Sandler's Mill passing behind the houses on the right we find the sign for Test Way.. From here for a km in the middle of the meadows and then enter the fabulous wooded part
for another km and 600 meters and exit crossing the road of the Roke Manor Gravel quarries, respecting to always stay on the authorized and well-defined path. now we return to cross the beautiful meadows, careful to pass only on the path well highlighted and well marked (Hillberry Farm) and Awbridge and then take us on the Old Salisbury Lane road, which with its ancient trees of suggestive shapes accompanies us for 1 km until we take the B3084 on the right and passing over the railway bridge we follow it for 500 meters until we enter on the right on the Greatbridge Road and after 250 meters ... a spectacle on the banks of the River Test; We make a piece of the path that runs alongside the river (a wonder)
We return to the Greatbridge Road A 3057 that we follow for 300 meters to take the path to Fishlake Meadows Reserve that we cross in good part to enter the Canal walk up to the Romsey Signal Box where our fabulous walk ends.
