Pezza, Purano, San Rocco, Minerva, Santa Maria Valverde
A simple but very engaging walk in the heart of Valpolicella, now famous in the world for Valpolicella wines such as Ripasso Amarone and Recioto
a length of about 6 km, with an uphill difference in height of 300 meters, maximum altitude 559 meters minimum 388

A brief description of the route:

departure from Pezza for example from Bar Minerva
follow for a short distance the provincial road 34 southbound (200 meters) and then take a right uphill Via Boschetti, reached the top (150 meters) you enter a path (250 meters) that descends flanking a dry stone wall of a property until you get on a paved provincial road in a northerly direction Purano
until you reach the hamlet of Purano here is worth a visit see Photos
take via IV Nomembre then via Olivo and in a curve turn right downhill first cemented section (500 meters)
and then it becomes a very beautiful path that coincides with the CAI path (Italian Alpine Club) number 231 White and Red trail marker
up to the fountain of the little fish (200 meters)
going up to the left behind the fish fountain on a small road lined with dry stone walls and stone slabs in the middle of vineyards we enjoy the landscapes and the territory
we pass near Lavatoio Fontana (500 meters)
and we continue to discover landscapes and then going up in the middle of the vineyards we get back on a dirt road always uphill (2.5 KM in total)
that leads us to reach the village of San Rocco di Marano di Valpolicella
Worth a visit the square La Chiesetta
and the Lessinia stone bus stop
after we return to (Via Caio Mario) at the point where we arrived and follow the signs Santa Maria Valverde – Tempio di Minerva
we climb on a paved and cemented road (Via Caio mario) up to the junction (100 meters) with signs we follow the signs on the left for the temple of Minerva
(300 meters) visit Temple Minerva
then we continue following a nice path CAI 231
until you reach after 400 meters
the panoramic place and square church and cemetery of Santa Maria Valverde from here the views on the valleys of Valpolicella (Fumane Marano Negrar) Mount Pastello Monte Baldo
From here we descend along paved road to Pezza from where we started 800 meters

Brief description of the route
A mixed circular route (asphalt, dirt, path) very scenic in the heart of Valpolicella from contrada Pezza to Purano and then on dirt roads and passage in the vineyards climbed to San Rocco then following the signs (Temple of Minerva / Santa Maria Valverde) we climb up to the very special point and that is to the Temple of Minerva and then continue on path CAI 231 (white / red) up to the Church of Santa Maria Valverde from here we are on a terrace Overview that spans over the whole Valpolicella at 270 degrees and the gash to Monte Pastello and Monte Baldo and from here we descend on an asphalt road to Contrada Pezza from where we started.
