Brief description of the route
Departure from the parking lot of Velo Veronese (mt 1015 asl)

The route begins climbing in the direction of the historic center towards the church of San G. Battista (1485 AD).  We recommend a short visit inside, after which you go down to the square with the monument to the fallen of the wars in the center.  From here you can appreciate the surrounding buildings in the traditional Lessinian style.Continue past the cemetery keeping to the left and along for about 500 meters at high altitude a dirt road flanked by a wooden railing, which leads to the provincial road heading north.  The route climbs for about a kilometer arriving in Purga (note the local stone cross dated 1884 and old hut). Keeping to the right and passing through some houses you arrive at the junction with signs Monte Purga-Retz on the right.  From here you cross for about 1200 meters a beautiful beech forest with numerous educational tables on local flora and fauna.  At the end we put ourselves on the SP13 road. From here you reach the Retz district continuing towards Velo with a total distance of 5km.
Once in the village, follow the signs Monte Purga starting the climb that leads to the top (1257 meters above sea level, 1.1km, difference in altitude 170mt).  A zigzag climb is recommended to be less tiring and reach the church at the end, from where you can admire the view. For the return you retrace the same path.
